who is thinking bitgold is cool? I think it is awsome. you can store value of your btc in gold and when you think btc will rise you can get back into btc. Plus with all this global instability gold might be rising "Soon".... I would also love to see silver on there as well. Any thoughts who has gotten their half gram gold for free?

Well I got my invite. I couldn't use it immediately so I left it until the weekend. I get as far as filling in my basic profile, but it errors out when I try to submit.
Anybody else having issues with the site ?

got my 15$ worth of Gold too, I think this will be a very useful service, provided it doesn't turn out to be short-lived. The idea of transferring Gold to BTC and vice-versa depending on going rate is quite good and could be very profitable, but I will keep an eye on this service for a little while before going in with any sizeable sums.

I'm thinking that perhaps the UK is not included in their offering yet. I still can't get past the basic profile page without hitting an unknown error. I have emailed and tweeted support days ago and heard nothing. I am currently in a chat session by myself which has been open for 20 minutes with no response.
I'm not altogether sure this is going to be a safe investment ...

After about 3 hours, somebody responded to my chat request. Unfortunately I wasn't there after the first 90 minutes wait. So they just closed the chat without any attempt to explain or answer my questions. No email still either. Seems they must be really busy with support calls ...

Oddly, I have a missed call from a +1 800 number. I wonder if they are trying to call me, and why.
edit: I don't believe this, they just sent an email saying that the site is now open to everyone and ready for business. I still can't complete the basic registration and even after trying to start from scratch with a different email, it won't go past that point. Oh dear, oh dear.

Thanks for the contact. I guess I'm confused really. I have had this problem for a few days and yet nobody has answered any of the emails I have sent to support, both manually and via your site. I can't see myself making an international call to discuss it. It is what it is - an unknown error. I can't tell you any more verbally than that. I'll post a sanitised screenshot here :

If you get chance, can you please find time to address this issue.

Edit: I am using Firefox 37.0.1 on Fedora 21 x86_64. No active ad-blockers or safe site plugins. I've cache cleared and restarted. I've tried with a different email address and phone number, same result. I don't even know if the data is being sent and rejected or not passing checks locally.

You don't need an invite anymore. They opened to the public a few days ago :

Well I finally gave in and installed Chrome to test the site. And it worked Don't know why firefox didn't like it, and now I have completed the sign up, firefox works fine. There must be something odd going on.

Anyhoo, I used the opportunity to invest my GHX earnings into gold. It looks like it takes up to 48 hours to confirm when paying by BTC, and withdrawals to BTC is Coming Soon^TM, as are the debit card and invoicing.

But it's a nice idea and less volatile than BTC (I hope).

Yup thats a nice idea. I think gold will rise in price as long as the fiat world is messed up. Keep calm and stack the gold!
