We could use a new sub-category for threads about crypto scams. I think of it as the Scam Bucket. When we feel certain that a coin or web site has gone belly up we should make one thread in the Scam Bucket for it and then move / append any threads in other categories to the new one. That will make it easy for anyone researching to search or browse for specific info.
The main question is where do we draw the line, at what point do we feel comfortable determining that a coin or web site belongs in the pillory? My gut says if a site disappears for a week without notice and money has gone missing, no payouts, etc, then it belongs there. If a site like LTC Gear, which didn't exactly disappear but has just turned into a long string of Coming Soon BS then the waiting period might stretch to 30 days.
GAW is potentially going to fit the category at some time in the future, but since they're still actively giving people coins through cashtakers, it's on a different sort of clock. Another issue with them is they like to threaten lawsuits, so the safe interval there isn't time, it's announcement of gov action such as an indictment or bankruptcy filing. Butterfly labs fits that model too, the day the feds announced a move on them would have been the day to put the thread in the Scam Bucket.
What do you think?
