Hi all

We're currently still building up parts of the forum, categories as well as settings and user groups. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions please post them here. Our goal is to build a community driven platform so your input is important to us.

We're also reviewing the forums group and trust level system with the goal to create a community managed forum structure that requires little to no moderation by granting members permissions that need to be achieved over time.

For example, there is a Safe Room category in General Discussions but you wont have access before you've reached a trust level of 3 or above. So get reading and posting... see you there

Can we get a topic on hardware discussion? I'd like to get a list of best available hardware and at which price point one should buy them, sort of work together. For example, bit main just came out with the s5 recently. Another example, I'm not aware of any new scrypt hardware other than the titan bit supply is very limited.

check out the hardware mining sub in crypto mining. I think it might not have displayed because there is no topic yet. Is that what you had in mind?

(btw, all existing categories display in the sidebar. The main view just hides them if they are empty.)

That's odd. I'll look into the trust levels today.
I've changed your trust level to 1 so that you can create new topics. Thanks for pointing that out.

Edit:
Just took a look at the trust levels. A new members must gain trust level 1 before he's can create a new topic. The requirements for level 1 are:

• Topics entered = 5
• Posts read = 10
• Time spend on the forum = 30 minutes

Forum Maintenance

Please note that the forum will go into a scheduled maintenance at 18:30 UTC (roughly one hour from now).

We'll be pushing a config and code change live which requires the forum container to be rebuild. The update will take approximately 10 minutes.

Mail Handler Update

We've received some info earlier today from a user who had received a false positive about the forum activation email being a trojan/phishing email when clicking on http://forum.gethashing.com/users/activate-account.

After looking into the issue we've noticed that the Mandrill's SPF and DKM record was not correctly configured on the domain host. We've updated and tested the records and the issue seems to be resolved.

New topics are limited for brand new users. I don't know what the limits are, but you have to have so much forum activity before it will let you create a thread.

Na spam control is pretty good for "new users". But since we're all a bunch of people that know each other (more or less) it's not surprising that a new user hits one of the limits so quickly.

@Daffy hit the max replies in first day limit which was set to 30. Raised it to 50 for now. 30 posts for a "new" user on his first day should be good.

no Surprise that you hit that threshold buddy. You post as if there was no tomorrow and if it wasn't you actually posting real stuff then imho the forum did a good job in shutting you down earlier.

LOL hey I've not been posting anything on any forum for a long time now. I'm in withdrawal. And you know I try to contribute sometimes I get carried away but seeing all the regulars here made me a little enthusiastic.
