Exactly GHX will stay GHX. The idea is that if equipment is obsolete it is going to be replaced. The older stuff will get shipped to GHX owners if they wish and the people that receives such a rig need to send GHX back and it will be destroyed. Other option is probably to upgrade the GHX to new hardware with or without extra payment in that case the rigs covering that GHX are sold and new equipement is bought to replace it and probably the GHX owner needs to make up the difference for the new rigs. I'm not very clear on the details yet.

I also made the point that it would take poor management to get there, which I don't see as a problem here. As long as there's an eye toward the future, and there always has been with this group, I see no reason why GHX can't manage the farm effectively to avoid an obsolete equipment situation.

We'll do what we can to ensure we'll replace hardware prior to day zero. B1 units will be considered for redemption, sale, replacement in the next 5 weeks. In addition the owners of GHX will obviously have a say about replacing and/or shipping hardware once we get closer to "having" to replace hardware. Always bear in mind that the farm is owned by all GHX owners and their shares / percentage in the farm held. If our members step up with concerns about the current hardware then the appropriate actions to be taken need to be discussed with "everyone" and GHteam is certainly not perfect or free of making mistakes. Nobody is.

You can believe me when I tell you that the farm is pretty much top of my agenda on a daily basis. If it is the current performance of the farm, the next batch, the hosting agreements, alternate options / locations to host or anything else. It takes up a large part of my day, every day.

For example (and we were going to share this later or in the next days) we're currently not to...fond.. of the proposed pricing for B2 of S5's. We're still discussing this and we're still in negotiations but it looks like as if B2 (at least if we opt for S5's) might burn down to a community vote to decide if we (as a community) want to purchase this batch.... thus the delays. I'll share more info on this specific point once I had a chance to chat with the team (6 different time zones slow down things at times).

One very strong point to NOT issue an additional asset for another batch is as well that we'd have to modify the entire PoE concept and the way accounting is done. We would need to setup new accounts with all pools, dedicate new mining and payout addresses to those, manage the entire batch individually from the rest of the farm which just creates more work eq. increases costs and overall time spend on a daily basis to do so. The whole reason to create smart asset shares was to reduce overheads in favour of sustainability and reduced workload. Thus GHX will be always GHX unless we "have" to change it for whatever reasons.

I wonder if there is an easy way to manage the vote by using coinprism. Just thinking of the work and effort involved for you when a vote a rises.

I've looked at Coinprism's voting feature and to be honest I'm not a fan of it but that might be just me. I prefer having open discussions with our members over a simple vote so that actual reasoning and ideas can be voiced.

Precisely. We have a pool feature here on the forum which is free and allows a discussion on the topic at the same time. Like I said above we're discussing some stuff right now concerning batch 2 and there "might" be a vote very soon since we do believe that "if" GH opts to deploy batch 2 on S5 hardware we'll need the consent of our members (aka investors) due the (current) proposed pricing.

You mean with power of GHfarm / GHX?

No, not directly. You can rent some of the GHfarm power at BetaRigs. The proceeds from rig rentals goes to GHrigs (see GHcoin page on GHcloud). The way GHX is designed doesn't allow for "slicing off" of hashpower for something like a virtual miner that is user controlled. through the smart asset dividend payments every GHX owner receives their share of the daily farm income based on the percentage of GHX owned.

The advantage by renting our rigs on BetaRigs though is that you're basically giving yourself a discount on your lease. Let's assume you own 2% of all GHX, you would receive 2% of your rig rental fee back through the daily GHX payouts.
